First time I saw this was as a senior in high school, fall of '69, an English class assignment, which I fulfilled while visiting my great-aunt in San Antonio.It's gotta be hard to do picaresque on film--can you think of another example as good? E.g., why don't we have a memorable film of Don Quixote?
